When Should You Start MDCAT Prep? What IBAGRADS’ 2026 Results Show

Most students start MDCAT prep after their Inter exams. Our 2026 results suggest that is late.

What our data shows

We looked at our MDCAT 2026 students who scored 150+ and when they joined IBAGRADS.

July and August joiners were our biggest group by far.

Four of our 170+ scorers joined in July or August:

  • Ifra Qureshi, 176 (joined 1 August), 1st position, Hyderabad
  • Kaif Ashraf Khan, 173 (joined 29 August)
  • Fatima Rehan Sharief, 172 (joined 3 August)
  • Rumaisa Imran, 171 (joined 18 July)

These numbers show who scored high, not everyone who joined in each month, so read them as a pattern, not a guarantee.

Why an early start helps

MDCAT has 180 MCQs, and Biology alone is 81. Starting early means:

  1. The syllabus is done by winter. You are not rushing new chapters near the test.
  2. You get a full testing phase. Weekly tests show your weak chapters while there is still time to fix them.
  3. Board exams do not derail you. You pause MDCAT for boards knowing the syllabus is already covered.

If you are starting now

Start today. Cover Biology first, test yourself weekly, and fix one weak chapter every week. See our full 2026 results.
