How to Calculate Your MDCAT Aggregate for Sindh Medical Colleges

Public medical colleges in Sindh, such as SMBBMU, calculate MBBS merit with this formula.

The formula

Aggregate = (MDCAT % × 0.50) + (HSSC % × 0.40) + (SSC % × 0.10)

Worked example

A student scores 160 / 180 in MDCAT, 950 / 1100 in FSc Pre-Medical and 1000 / 1100 in Matric.

PartPercentageWeightPoints
MDCAT88.89%× 0.5044.44
HSSC86.36%× 0.4034.55
SSC90.91%× 0.109.09
Aggregate88.08

What this tells you

  • Each MDCAT mark (out of 180) is worth about 0.28 aggregate points.
  • 10 extra MDCAT marks add about 2.8 points, often the difference of hundreds of places on a merit list.
  • FSc marks carry 40%, so your board exams matter too.

Eligibility reminders

  • At least 60% in FSc Pre-Medical (660 / 1100)
  • At least 55% in MDCAT for MBBS, 50% for BDS

Formulas can differ by university and year. Check your target college’s admission policy.
