PMDC has not announced the MDCAT 2027 date yet. MDCAT 2026 was scheduled for 16 August 2026, and in Sindh it was held on 20 September 2026 after a postponement. Expect MDCAT 2027 around August–September 2027 and confirm the date on pmdc.pk.

MDCAT has 180 MCQs. In MDCAT 2026 the split was Biology 81, Chemistry 45, Physics 36, English 9 and Logical Reasoning 9. Biology alone is 45% of the paper, so it deserves the most preparation time.

No. PMDC confirmed there is no negative marking in MDCAT 2026, so you should attempt every question, even when you are not fully sure of the answer.

To qualify for MBBS you need at least 55% in MDCAT, which is 99 out of 180. For BDS (dental) the minimum is 50%, which is 90 out of 180. Passing only makes you eligible; admission depends on merit.

The Sindh MDCAT 2026 was a three-hour paper with 180 MCQs, which gives you about one minute per question.

In 2026, MDCAT in Sindh was conducted by SIBA Testing Services (Sukkur IBA University), with Karachi centres at NED University and Dow University's Ojha Campus.

Public medical colleges in Sindh such as SMBBMU calculate merit as MDCAT 50%, HSSC (FSc Pre-Medical) 40% and SSC (Matric) 10%. You also need at least 60% in FSc Pre-Medical and 55% in MDCAT for MBBS.

Yes. A-Level students can take MDCAT and apply for MBBS with an IBCC equivalence certificate. Colleges require at least 60% in HSSC or its IBCC-recognised equivalent.

Start as early as you can. At IBAGRADS, the largest group of students who scored 150+ in MDCAT 2026 joined in July and August 2025, and four of our 170+ scorers, including our 176 topper, joined in July or August.

Aga Khan University says it is likely to use UCAT from the 2027 admission cycle. UCAT has four subtests and 184 questions in about two hours, and it tests reasoning and judgement rather than subject knowledge, so it needs separate practice.

In MDCAT 2026, 70 IBAGRADS students scored 160+, 31 scored 165+ and 11 scored 170+. Our top score was 176 by Ifra Qureshi, 1st position in Hyderabad. 431 of our 512 Sindh students passed, an 84% pass rate.

ECAT is the engineering entry test run by UET Lahore for Punjab's engineering universities. Students in Karachi usually prepare for several university tests instead: NUST's NET, FAST, NED, GIKI and PIEAS, each with its own pattern and merit formula.

NET Series-1 for Fall 2027 registration runs from 4 October to 14 November 2026, with computer-based tests in Islamabad from 17 November 2026. NUST lists a paper-based NET in Karachi around March 2027 as tentative. Check nust.edu.pk before each series.

NUST merit for engineering is NET 75%, HSSC (FSc) 15% and SSC (Matric) 10%. Because the test carries 75%, a strong NET score matters far more than board marks.

The engineering NET has 200 MCQs in 3 hours: Mathematics 50%, Physics 30% and English 20%. There is no negative marking.

Yes. NUST runs several NET series each year and considers your best score, so taking an early series gives you a practice attempt and a second chance.

For engineering, FAST counts the admission test 33%, HSSC 50% and SSC 17%. For computing programmes, including BS Computer Science, it is test 50%, HSSC 40% and SSC 10%. FAST also accepts SAT or NTS NAT instead of its own test.

For BS Computer Science and Engineering, the FAST test is Advanced Maths 50%, Basic Maths 20%, Analytical Skills/IQ 20% and English 10%. There is negative marking and calculators are not allowed.

NED calculates merit as 60% entry test and 40% HSSC Part I marks (or O-Level equivalence for A-Level students). You must score at least 50% in the NED test to qualify.

NED holds its entry test in two phases. In 2026 they were 12–15 June and 6–9 July. NED usually announces its schedule in March, so expect the 2027 test in June–July.

GIKI's admission test carries 85% of merit and SSC or O-Level equivalence carries 15%. HSSC Part I marks are not counted. The test covers Maths, Physics and English, and there is a Karachi centre. The 2026 test was held on 6–10 July.

For pre-engineering students the PIEAS test has 100 MCQs in 3 hours: Maths 30, Physics 30, Chemistry 30 and English 10, with no negative marking. PIEAS holds two tests a year; in 2026 they were on 12 April and 12 July.

Yes. A-Level students apply with an IBCC equivalence certificate. NED uses O-Level equivalence in place of HSSC Part I, and GIKI uses O-Level equivalence for its 15% academic share. Most tests follow the HSSC syllabus, so A-Level students should cover any missing topics.

IBAGRADS students secured 1,101 engineering admissions in 2026: NED 398, FAST 221, NUST 157, IBA-CS 101, GIKI 37 and 187 at other universities. M. Ahmed Jawed took 1st position at NED, and our top NUST NET score was 153.

BCAT is the term Karachi students use for business college admission tests, mainly the IBA Karachi test. It covers preparation for programmes like BBA, BS Accounting & Finance, BS Economics and BS Computer Science at IBA.

IBA Karachi has three rounds. Round 1: forms 1 October to 9 December 2026, test on 20 December 2026. Round 2: forms 1 January to 8 March 2027, test on 21 March 2027. Round 3: test on 20 June 2027.

Yes, but each IBA school has its own form and fee, and you cannot add a school after results are announced. Decide every programme you want before you apply.

Only for top scorers. IBA admits SAT candidates through its own SAT merit list, so a SAT score alone does not guarantee admission. Most students take the IBA admission test.

The IBA undergraduate test is an MCQ test in English and Mathematics. The same test is used across IBA's undergraduate schools; programme eligibility rules differ. Check iba.edu.pk for the current policy.

Round 1 suits students who are already prepared, with the test on 20 December. Round 2, with the test on 21 March, gives about three more months to prepare. Both are full admission rounds.

Some candidates are offered admission directly on the basis of their test result. Others are called for an interview before IBA makes a final decision.

Most Karachi business students apply to IBA Karachi, IoBM, SZABIST and KSBL, and many also apply to LUMS in Lahore. Each has its own test or SAT policy and its own dates, so plan your applications together.

Yes. For the LUMS business school (SDSB), SAT, ACT or LCAT is mandatory. LUMS sets no minimum score. The Fall 2027 application deadline is 27 January 2027 at 5 pm.

KSBL asks for at least 60% in HSSC or equivalent. You take the KSBL Undergraduate Admission Test (KUAT) or submit a SAT score that meets its criteria, and shortlisted candidates are interviewed. Students from any Inter group can apply.

IoBM's undergraduate test is an MCQ test covering English, quantitative skills, analytical reasoning and general knowledge, with no negative marking. Applicants with at least 550 in SAT Maths and 550 in SAT Reading & Writing may be exempt.

SZABIST's undergraduate test has 100 computer-based MCQs in 90 minutes: English 30, Mathematics 20, Analytical Reasoning 20 and General Knowledge 30. There is no negative marking.

Yes. Business programmes such as BBA accept students from any Inter group. Programmes like BS Computer Science or BS Economics & Mathematics need Mathematics, so check each programme's eligibility before you apply.

The IBA test is English and Mathematics MCQs at roughly SAT level. Build vocabulary, reading and grammar daily, revise school-level algebra, arithmetic and geometry, and take full timed tests every week so speed improves before test day.

In 2026, 621 IBAGRADS students cleared the IBA test, 374 received direct admission and 45 secured top-5 positions, including 6 first positions across IBA programmes.

IBAGRADS has six campuses in Karachi: North Nazimabad (0342-2222252), Bahadurabad (0333-4918987), Gulshan-e-Iqbal (0331-4222352), Gulistan-e-Jauhar (0340-4501549), DHA (0333-5349966) and Malir, Jinnah Avenue (0344-5144040). Central helpline: 0340-0252222.

IBAGRADS prepares students for IBA and other business school tests (BCAT), MDCAT, engineering tests including NUST, FAST, NED, GIKI and PIEAS (ECAT), SAT and the AKU admission test.

Yes. Students outside Karachi can join premium live online classes with the same faculty and tests as our campuses, and every lecture is recorded for revision.

Classes are capped at 40 students. When a batch is full, it closes.

Yes. Students take a test every week, and every test is reviewed. Weak chapters are noted and followed up before the next test, alongside chapter tests, mock tests and full-length grand tests.

Yes. Parents are updated on their child's tests and attendance, and every student has a mentor who tracks their progress.

Yes. IBAGRADS students also get a digital app to practise MCQs and spot weak topics between classes.

IBAGRADS has been preparing students for university entry tests in Karachi for 25 years.
