How to Calculate Your NUST Aggregate (With a Worked Example)

NUST engineering merit uses a simple formula. Once you know it, you can see exactly how much your NET score matters.

The formula

Aggregate = (NET % × 0.75) + (HSSC % × 0.15) + (SSC % × 0.10)

Worked example

A student scores 140 / 200 in NET, 900 / 1100 in FSc and 1000 / 1100 in Matric.

PartPercentageWeightPoints
NET70.00%× 0.7552.50
HSSC81.82%× 0.1512.27
SSC90.91%× 0.109.09
Aggregate73.86

What moves your aggregate most

  • 10 more NET marks (out of 200) add 3.75 points to your aggregate.
  • 55 more FSc marks (5% of 1100) add only 0.75 points.

That is why NET preparation deserves most of your time if NUST is your target.

Which HSSC marks are used?

It depends on your result type (HSSC Part I, complete HSSC, A-Level equivalence or DAE). Check NUST’s eligibility page for your route.
